The 2025 Winter Ophthalmic Summit takes place Thursday March 20 – Saturday March 22 2025, at The Hythe in Vail, Colorado.  This meeting features relevant topics in retina, glaucoma, aesthetics, dry eye, contact lens, ocular disease, emerging technologies and practice management.

mile brujic, OD, FAAO

Dr. Brujic is a 2002 graduate of the New England College of Optometry.  He is a partner of Premier Vision Group, a successful four location optometric practice in Northwest Ohio.  He practices full scope optometry with an emphasis on ocular disease management of the anterior segment and specialty contact lenses.  He is active at all levels of organized optometry.  

Dr. Brujic is on the editorial board for a number of optometric publications.  He has published over 400 articles and has given over 2000 lectures, both nationally and internationally on contemporary topics in eye care.

Cecelia koetting, OD, FAAO

Dr. Koetting practices at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Department of Ophthalmology in Denver, CO. Her primary focus is in anterior segment and ocular surface disease, neuro-optometry, and peri-operative care. She partakes in clinical research and has served Externship Director and adjunct faculty for severalschools and colleges of optometry.

Dr. Koetting is a member of Intrepid, a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, a diplomate of theAmerican Board of Optometry, an active member of AOA and has served as both local and state officers within ADA. She was named young Optometrist of the year by the state of Virginia. Dr. Koetting lectures locally, nationally and internationally at conferences, continually contributes articles to and serves on editorial board for multiple publications.

Dr. Peter Kalina is a Professor of Radiology at Mayo Clinic. He received a medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine, and completed a Neuroradiology Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He is board-certified in Radiology and Neuroradiology.

Dr. Kalina is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Neuroimaging;  official journal of the American Society of Neuroimaging  and lectures both nationally and internationally.

randall thomas, od, mph, faao

Dr. Thomas is a 1981 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and a 1976 graduate of the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina.  He is in full-time clinical practice in Concord, North Carolina.  He was presented the “Glaucoma Educator of the Year” award by the American Academy of Optometry in 1997.  He and Dr. Ron Melton co-author Review of Optometry’s “Annual Drug Guide to Ophthalmic Drugs”, now in its seventeenth year.  He is on the Professional Staff at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast where he also serves on the teaching faculty of the Cabarrus  Family Medicine Residency Program.  Dr. Thomas has served as a consultant to the American Optometric Association on its Council on Clinical Optometric Care and Hospital Privileges Committees.  He has served as an ophthalmic drug principal investigator for the FDA.  Dr. Thomas has lectured world-wide with Dr. Melton on the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.   He and his wife Cheryl have two daughters.

frank siringo, md, od

Dr. Frank Siringo received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. He then served on active duty as an optometrist in the U.S. Army at Ft. Hood Texas, and with the Fourth Infantry Division in Tikrit, Iraq. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the military, Dr. Siringo attended New York University (NYU) School of Medicine and graduated with honors followed by Ophthalmology Residency at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center. 

After completing training, Dr. Siringo joined the faculty at the University of Colorado as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and attending vitreoretinal surgeon. In this capacity he trained medical students, residents and retina fellows for years, while maintaining a busy clinical and surgical practice. 

Dr. Siringo has volunteered on numerous international eye care trips to Central America. He is active in research, with more than a dozen peer-reviewed publications, numerous scientific abstracts, book chapters, and invited lectures on topics including retinal imaging, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment.

james tian, md

Dr. James Tian graduated from Duke University with a dual major in Chemistry and Biology and then completed an ophthalmology residency and medical school at Duke. After residency, he underwent subspecialty fellowship training at the Duke Eye Center specializing in cornea transplantation, refractive surgery, and complex cataract and anterior segment surgery.

Dr. Tian has a passion for international mission work in ophthalmology, having traveled to perform cataract surgery and corneal transplants in El Salvador and Nepal.

As an accomplished academic and clinician, Dr. Tian has published and contributed to numerous publications and abstracts in prestigious journals. He has also authored numerous book chapters and presented his work at numerous national conferences. He stays up to date on the latest developments in advanced technology and presbyopia-correcting lenses in the treatment of cataracts, LASIK and PRK refractive surgery, and phakic intraocular lenses. His clinical interests include cornea transplantation, keratoconus, lens exchanges, and iris repairs.
